You're lucky you arrived in a place with enough other expats to befriend and your idea of starting this group was very pro-active. Being pro-active in this way is essential in the expat life.<br /><br />Your new home is a steady one, a place to grow new roots. There are also those expats who move from country to country, and end up leaving friends behind in all corners of the globe, and having no real home, and no roots anywhere.
